Lift and Load Depot Fisher Price

Today I have a new (sometime) set to share with you, the Fisher Cost Lift & Load Railroad #943.  Fabricated between 1978-1979 this was the 2d of the Lift & Load sets produced.  The #942 Elevator & Load Depot was first produced from 1977-1979.  The third set in the serial was the Elevator & Load Lumber Yard #944 from 1979-1981.

This is the concluding of the three sets that nosotros added to our drove.  I bought it equally a Christmas gift for my youngest and information technology is a perfect addition to the other two!  Merely more on that in a bit.

The Lift & Load Railroad came with quite a few pieces (24), many of them exclusives to the set.  The fix came with a full of vii track pieces; 4 curved pieces and iii short straight tracks.

The base looks similar to the Elevator & Load Depot but has the addition of a built in track.  It also included a crane that moves side to side, a platform that tilts upward to load cargo, a removable orange ramp and a "cage" that moves past a creepo.

The accessories that came with the ready included 3 little people figures, a railroad train engine, apartment car, green forklift, ramp, 7 pieces of cargo and a muzzle. I've read conflicting reports on whether in that location were variations to any of the pieces, one source said no and the other said the crates could be brown or tan (as shown).

The niggling people construction figures included the two tall ones shown in a higher place and a 3rd that looks only similar the small guy but is regular acme.  I looked EVERYWHERE but couldn't find him in our playroom this morning.  I'm sure he'll announced in one case I post this entry. :)

Nosotros have quite the pile of people (this isn't even all of them) but I didn't see him.  Do you lot? 😆

The set came with 8 pieces of cargo: four light orange shipping pallets, 2 black oil drums and two grey crates with wood slats molded into the side.  All of the cargo pieces are made of plastic.  The orangish pallets were exclusive to this set, 3 dissimilar sets used brown pallet versions.

The coolest and most exclusive slice is the railroad train engine.  Information technology is a current of air upwardly railroad train that has an on/off switch.  The engine tin go around the runway up to 4 times according to what I've read, but I've experienced more than like 2-3x.  The trouble with these engines is that it'south hard to find 1 that actually works!  Information technology took 4 tries (!!!) to get one that wasn't overwound.

The railroad train tin can besides exist pushed manually by a child but that's not quite as fun as watching information technology proceed its own.

Our train makes a...high pitched sound but I similar to think it makes information technology more authentic.  Check out my video to see what I mean.  Does your train audio like this too?

These are almost 40 year old toys and through the years overly enthusiastic children have cleaved the windings which from what I can tell are unable to be stock-still. If you know how to fix the engine I recommend posting a how-to video on youtube for the rest of us.

Now for a closer look.  The orange ramp is an exclusive, non to be dislocated with a like yellow ramp that came with the #944 Lift & Load Lumber Yard.  It is removable and helps the forklift get onto the deck for piece of cake loading/unloading.

The train flat car has a yellowish base that lifts up.  The flat auto can load here where the forklift is or within the tunnel from the muzzle.

Here yous can see the orange cage in action.  The cage moves back and forth with the orange crank.

The cage is a set sectional and although it looks similar to the yellowish cage from the Elevator & Load Depot they are actually quite different.

This orangish muzzle is removable and attaches to an orange plastic brawl.

One finish of the tunnel/base of operations piece has a orange platform that tilts upwardly to help unload.

Although the set up is fun on information technology's own it is even more fun with our other Lift & Load sets.  I keep them organized (sort of) in a big basket in the playroom.

Doesn't that look fun?!  At present if I could just find that missing structure worker.....
